REPORT MANGROVE AREA CLEAN UPS

Mangroves are a critical and invaluable ecosystem that protect islands and acts as a carbon sink for our oceans. Yet, this is another marine environment that tends to get treated as dumping site unless monitored carefully. Any clean-ups organized in mangrove areas will serve to both educate the students on the importance of mangroves and how imperative it is to protect them.

HOW

• Organize clean ups in mangroves — these can be clean ups done while on educational trips or while taking inventory of the area

• Report each clean up via the clean-up reporting form

• Ensure that Parley receives the plastic collected
